- PTA’s Boosterthon fundraiser begins Tuesday, April 23. The Fun Run is Thursday, May 2.
- Field Day is Friday, April 26.
- Our April Scholastic book order is also due Friday, April 26.
- Fourth grade’s ELA Touchstone is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, April 29 – May 1.
- Looping to fifth grade responses are due Monday, April 29.
- Fourth quarter progress reports go home Tuesday, April 30.
- Walk to School Wednesday is Wednesday, May 1.
- Fourth grade’s Math Touchstone is Monday and Tuesday, May 6 and 7.
- Our fourth quarter STEM Day is Friday, May 10.
- Tuesday, May 21, is the fourth grade awards ceremony and ice cream social. If your student is receiving an award, parent invitations will go home. The awards begin at 8:15 in the cafeteria; the ice cream social begins at 9:15 on the blacktop (weather permitting) or in the fourth grade hallway. All parents are welcome to the ice cream social. Students are welcome to bring their yearbooks for signing at that time.
- May 21 and 22 are Early Release, with May 22 being the last day of school.
- Many students in our class have summer birthdays! Please email me if you'd like to bring in a treat at lunch to celebrate your child's birthday early. Thanks!
Week 31 Review
Social Studies: Students learned about the Trail of Tears and the Oregon Trail.
Math: Students reviewed decimals and took their unit test. They also learned about lines of symmetry in shapes.
ELA: Students began to review for the Milestones. We reviewed summarizing, characterization, author's purpose, setting, fact and opinion, plot, and overall structure. They had their first Writing Mock - an informational essay. We also learned about prepositions in grammar.
Week 32 Preview
Science: Students will begin investigating the properties of light.
Math: Students will learn about points and lines. They will measure angles and classify shapes.
ELA: Students will continue to review for the ELA Milestone - inferences, theme, figurative language, compare and contrast, point of view, and firsthand and secondhand accounts. Our Writing Wednesday will be a mock opinion essay. In grammar, students will learn about adjectives and adverbs.
