Friday Q & A
December 6, 2019
Welcome to the positive, proactive Q & A!
Clarification: I asked for names and email addresses when submitting questions so that I can reach out individually to parents who are upset or frustrated by school decisions. If a frustration is shared that has not been addressed ad nauseam on Q & A, I will definitely address it for everyone. I will not publish names with questions. We want Q & A to be a positive, enjoyable read where we can proactively solve problems!
If I am a concerned parent about the school homework policy, can I give my child my own homework assignments at home? 100% yes. You are the parent and should be in charge at home!
Is Cobb County and King Springs Elementary 100% responsible for my child's education, or do parents have responsibility also? The Cobb County School District plays an important role in your child’s education, however, as a parent, you are your child’s first teacher and you keep that role throughout their lives. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new at school and at home.
Can we spray paint the school walls at the end of the year before they tear the school down? I think that would be totally fun! Let me check with the construction supervisor and I’ll post an answer next week. We have to be out of the building on the last day for students. The turn around time for demolishing that building and having our spacious new parking lot ready for July is quite tight. Stay tuned!
Why doesn't the PTA link for the Teacher and Staff holiday fund raising give option to pay by credit or debit card? It would be more convenient if parents forget to send till the last day or if they ran out of hard cash in valet. As we use debit/credit cards mostly for all purposes it would be great if that option was shown. I wanted to contribute but I kept forgetting till last day and didn't had cash and forgot check option either. Thank you for the question. I do not have a specific answer for you, but I will find out.
