Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! My name is Kristin Nixon and I am thrilled to have you as part of our first grade class. This will be a great year for all of us!
I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. This is my fourteenth year teaching at King Springs (I can’t believe it!) and my eighth year in First Grade. I have previously taught Kindergarten and Second Grade. I am excited about this opportunity to teach another fun year in first grade! I have a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, both from Mercer University. I live in Smyrna with my two “boys” Dasher Incredible and Slinky Longfellow, who just so happen to be Miniature Dachshunds!
I typically arrive at school at 7:15 and stay until 3:30 p.m. I have included my email address as a way to get in contact with me. This is the best way to get in touch with me, especially regarding something needing immediate attention, as I can reply to email more quickly than phone messages. I appreciate all questions and concerns you have, so JUST ASK!
I am excited to be your child’s teacher. First grade is such an important year. Your child will show amazing growth academically, physically, and emotionally this year. Thank you in advance for all your support!
Sincerely,
Ms. Nixon
