This is entry one of the third week of gardening club. This is what we did this week.
First, we showed Mrs. Carson our sketches and shadings of our dicot and monocot leaves. If you do not know what dicot and monocot flowers are (or how to tell them apart) the easiest way to tell is by the vanes on their leaves. The dicot vanes are wiggles, or not parallel to each other. On the other hand, monocot vanes are parallel to each other.
Then, we split up into two groups. One group was outside picking up all the foods we had grown. Also, the outside group cleared out some of our garden boxes so next time we could plant more things. We had so much corn and beans that we could probably serve 5 FAMILIESJ! The other group had flowers and they put them in different objects. Some kids pressed their flowers in newspapers, some put their flowers into cat litter, and others put theirs into empty cups.
Finally, we got together and we all held our HUMUNGOUS sunflower for a group picture. We all had a wonderful time this meeting (not that we didn’t have fun the other two meetings). Quick fact: did you know that trees help make air? This blog is brought to you by Junior Master Gardening Club.
Do you garden? If not, then start planting things like flowers, fruits, and vegetables. See how much happiness it brings to you.
