Questions to Ask Your Reader

Good readers are growing in each classroom every day at KSE!  Students are expected to read and comprehend fiction and nonfiction texts on their level. One component of moving to the next reading level is to be able to retell the story with details. If students are able to call words but don't understand and can't retell what they've read, they are only half-way to the goal. Here are some questions you can ask your child while they are reading to help them build their comprehension.  There is one page for fiction and one for nonfiction.
