Hello Teachers and Parents,
The new home of the Atlanta Braves is opening next month! With our new neighbor moving in, King Springs Elementary has an opportunity to earn money. Delaware North, a family owned business based in New York and provides concession services at many stadiums across the country, is the exclusive food and beverage provider at SunTrust Park.
DelawareNorth's operating model is to "hire" non-profit organizations to run its concession stands. The payment is a donation to the school, not a paycheck to the individuals manning the booth. These organizations must sign a contract committing to a set duration, ie. consecutive number of home games/events, and a set number of people committed to working each ballgame.
Sounds like a great opportunity to enjoy a Braves game?
Volunteer requirements:
- Age 18 years or older
- Each volunteer must purchase a Cobb County Alcohol Work (Server) permit for the current year prior to attending training. The cost the permit for each volunteer is $30. (If the volunteer works 4 games within the block of games committed, he/she can receive a reimbursement which goes to the organization directly. The organization will give it to the volunteer.)
- All volunteers must report 2.5 hours before the game time. The Group lead must report 3.5 hours before the game starts. Volunteers must stay approximately one hour after the game ends to clean up the concession area.
- All volunteers must attend a 2-4 hour orientation before the Park opens and show the Server permit upon attending the orientation.
The opportunity for KSE
If KSE commits to a quarter season (~20 games/events) with 10 people volunteering each game, we would receive a minimum donation of $500 each game/event which is $10,000. The donation will be more than that
based on a percentage of net sales from the sales location (concession) operated by our group. The total donation will be equivalent to 10% net food and non-alcoholic beverage sales and 7% net alcoholic beverages sales.
This volunteer opportunity is open to parents, staff, teachers and spouses of teachers/staff as long as they meet the requirements stated above.
This is a tremendous source of income but it is also a tremendous time demand for the volunteers. We are contemplating a commitment of a group of 10 volunteers for the first quarter of the season which would be March 31 - May 30th (26 games and events). This includes the Billy Joel concert on April 29th and two exhibition games before season officially starts on April 14th.
Please complete this survey so we can determine if there's enough interest to pursue this opportunity.
Thank you very much for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Linda Keeney & Nicola Bradburn Fuller, President, King Springs Elementary School Foundation, Inc.
