Book Fair is Coming!!!

Computer Lab Tuesday

We are opening the building for computer use on Tuesday night from 6:00-7:30.  Teachers will be available. Parents must attend with their students.

Kiwanis Terrific Kid Award

The Kiwanis Terrific Kid Award will be given each 9 weeks.  Click on the link below to better understand the requirements:

Aunty Math Family Problem Solving

Visit the Aunty Math website to solve word problems with your child.  After the family has completed the problem, send the solution with your student to school.  The entry will be placed in a rectangular prism for a drawing on KSTV.  The "winning" family will be recognized schoolwide.  What is the benefit?  Helping your child with problem solving and spending priceless quality time with them.

Agenda Marks

I will be more strict this week about marking the students for talking at inappropriate times or not completing work on time, etc. on the clipboard and making note of it in his or her agenda.  I realize that for some students they may receive their first agenda mark ever.  However, I appreciate your support and guidance at home because this will help to train the kids at the beginning of the year as we are still working on guidelines and procedures.  While we are a community in the classroom, I want them to understand that we do have guidelines to follow with the number of people we have in our room.

Please remember to ask for your student's agenda every night to sign.  Sometimes the students forget to voluntarily give it to you to sign each night.

Classroom Wish List

It was a pleasure to meet so many of you at Sneak-a-Peek this past Thursday night.  Several of you inquired about a "wish list".  At that time I had not had an opportunity to put a list together.  As I have thought about the needs of our students, a few things have come to mind.  The items can be purchased at The Dollar Tree:

a) Multiplication and division flash cards (no characters please)

b) Packages of 10 dice (white only--found in the toy aisle)

c) Packages of regular playing cards (packaged in pairs; so, 2 for $1--found in toy aisle)

d) A few rolls of paper towels
