Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year at King Springs Elementary!

We have exciting activities planned in accordance to the Georgia Performance Standards.  Thank you for working with your child on multiplication facts and reading skills over the summer break.

At this site you will find valuable information about what your student is learning in the classroom in addition to critical news such as student expectations, our class schedule, and links to other websites that will be helpful to your child's learning experience that he or she may practice at home.  On the left side under the "pages" category, I have created separate categories for you and your student to explore.  I will be updating and adding information to these throughout the school year.  To view weekly updates by subject area, click on the link for "Academic Information (Anderson's Anectdotes)".  Be sure to check the left side periodically.

 Sincerely,

Mrs. Roslyn Anderson

Math Vocabulary for 4th Grade

Use these vocabulary words to study with your child so they have a clear understanding of the math vocabulary used in 4th grade.  The words are in PDF format so you can save them, print them, or simply log on and study them.

Message from Mrs. Keeney (P.E. Floor)

Parents we have a brand new gym floor that we are very proud of.  Unfortunately, students are not wearing the proper shoes on the days that they take PE.  Boots, crocs, hard sole shoes, particularly those with a higher heel and shoes other than tennis shoes are not only dangerous for PE but they are ruining the new floor.  Please make sure that your child wears tennis shoes only on PE days.  In general students should not ever wear open toed shoes or flip flops for safety reasons.
Thank you,
Linda Keeney

Agenda Marks

I will be more strict this week about marking the students for talking at inappropriate times or not completing work on time, etc. on the clipboard and making note of it in his or her agenda.  I realize that for some students they may receive their first agenda mark ever.  However, I appreciate your support and guidance at home because this will help to train the kids at the beginning of the year as we are still working on guidelines and procedures.  While we are a community in the classroom, I want them to understand that we do have guidelines to follow with the number of people we have in our room.

Please remember to ask for your student's agenda every night to sign.  Sometimes the students forget to voluntarily give it to you to sign each night.

Thank you for your support in making our classroom free from distractions and a learning environment.

Click on the link below for a copy of the conduct sheet with the codes of conduct outlined.  The code will be denoted in the agenda for the infraction:
