Computer Lab is Open!

Good News!  We are opening the building for computer use on Tuesday, October 27th from 6:00-7:30. Teachers will be available. Parents must attend with their students.  You will be able to access websites and programs that your child uses. Please attend if you have don't have access to the internet or a computer. 

Reading Logs & Homework

1.  Reading Logs will start in September.  I will upload the record sheet which is expected to be turned in at the end of the month. 15 - 20 minutes is expected every night, reading from the "Bag of Books that each child will begin bringing home after we begin reading groups.  

2. Homework:  Each child received an August Homework calendar inside their spiral notebook labeled "My Homework Journal."  Please complete a few activities each night.  When the Homework Journal is returned on Friday of each week, I will check and return it.  Please initial next to each activity as you do it.  

Sweatshirts & waterbottles...

Our classroom is kept on the cooler side, so your child might ask to bring a sweatshirt to school.  We can leave them at school for the week and send home on Fridays to be washed, or as needed.  Please make sure your child's name is on their sweatshirt if they do bring one.

Some kids have asked about bringing waterbottles to keep in class.  I am fine with that as long as they are not screw-tops.  The ones that have straws or sport tops (the ones that just pop up) are great.  If they become preoocupied with their waterbottle, I might send it home with a little note.

In the anticipation and haste of dismissal, I unfortunately forgot to give the students the Cobb County Folders that are mentioned on the weekly behavior log today (Tuesday, Aug, 11th).  I will send them home tomorrow and hopefully get forms back by Friday, the 14th.  Thanks and sorry!

Class Handbook & Signature sheet

Please take a few minutes to view the handbook.  It has a lot of valuable information and guidelines for our school and class.  After you have viewed (and memorized!!!) it, please print the signature sheet, sign it and return to school in your child's folder.
