About Me

This is my third year at King Springs and my second full year teaching.  I am excited to be teaching second grade this year.  I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2006 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  Before attending Kennesaw State, I attended The University of West Georgia, whCheerleaderere I cheered for four years.  I have always been involved in some type of teaching.  Throughout college I coached both cheerleading and gymnastics on competitive levels.  I loved working with the kids so much, I decided to become a teacher.  I have a dog named Pepper and a husband named Mike, who was also a college cheerleader.

Great First Day!!

Dear Parents,

We had an absolutely wonderful first day of school.  I am so proud of your children!  I just wanted to write in a few little reminders.  Your children are starting homework this evening.  Please check in their new plastic folder for the homework.  Also, please take a look at the students' new agendas.  There is a sheet typed on the front for directions.  I explained the directions to the students today as well.  Please let me know if you have any questions concerning both the homework and the agendas.  They are also to be checked and signed each night.

Thank you so much to the parents who contributed extra snacks for the class.  Remember we will be having snack everyday this year.  We unfortunately have a late lunch schedule.  Your child may also bring a bottled water to school.

Let's have a great first week!

Bethany Snyder

Reminders and New Information

Reminder:

I want to remind you that we will be having a Spelling test and a Math quiz tomorrow (Friday).  The math quiz will cover the content we have studied over the past two weeks (tens, ones, and hundreds place, showing different ways to express number, and estimating).

New Information:

This year we will be introducing a new report card and grading system in first and second grade.  Please take a moment to read the letter below from Mrs. Keeney regarding the new report cards.  I will also send home a hard copy of this letter.  Please don't hesitate to ask questions.  This report card is new to us all, however, we feel it is going to be very beneficial.

Loco Moco ~ Open for Business!!

Welcome to the Loco Moco! This is the first ever hot chocolate and entertainment cafe.  We are open to the public every Friday at 12:30 for lunch and open mic sharing.  We will be serving hot chocolate the last Friday of every month.  The cafe is located at King Springs Elementary in Mrs. Snyder's classroom.  All parents and siblings are invited to attend throughout the year.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  This weekly activity is going to be a success.  It gives the students the opportunity to share, build confidence, and work towards a goal.  Thank you so much for your support!
